Recovery and Development Grants 2020/21

Recovery and Development Grants 2020/21

Given the exceptional challenges facing museums as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Museum Development North East are replacing our 2020 small grants scheme with an enhanced one off 'Recovery and Development' Grant Scheme.

Funded by Arts Council England (ACE) and the Art Fund, the scheme is offering grants from £500 to £10,000.  It will support both museum reopening costs and future development and sustainability planning and aims to help museums remain a key part of the life of all communities in the region.

About the Grants

Two levels of funding are available:

  • Grants from £500 to £5000 (supported by ACE) do not require match funding and are open to all non NPO Accredited/Working Towards Accreditation Museums (including non-lead members of NPO consortia).
  • Grants of £5000 - £10,000 (supported by ACE and the Art Fund) require 10% match funding (cash or in kind) and are open to all non NPO museums (including non-lead members of NPO consortia), but not to museums already in receipt of ACE, NLHF or Historic England Coronavirus emergency funding.
